Subset Listing Of Poems Relating To Twenty Five Thinkers' Suggestions For Improving The Effectiveness Of A [Photo-Based]Ministry
These poems are reflections on the chapter presentations of two dozen lives and thought about the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives, and the poems consider the implications of each person's thought for the practice of photography and graphic arts in general. The book itself is very readable, and quite interesting, as Leona presents the material she has researched as if she was a journalist interviewing each person at a specific point in their lives, between 1850 and 1930. She does a masterful job. The book itself is Powerlines by Leona Choy

- There have been many versions of portraits made from a collage of tiny portraits of other people. - Our names often have an impact on us, as do our home cultures. However, sometimes we can find one or another of these factors quite inhibiting to our owrk. It is at that time that the vision of The Spirit of God initiating creativity of light into dark in Genesis Chapter 1 comes to the forefront. We are made in god's (creative) image, and so people respond readily to its effect in our lives and through our photos..."Skip The Ethnocentric Arrogance" [Reflections On Book Powerlines by Leona Frances Choy - Chapter 7 , Jonathan Goforth #24/25] (Mar/26/2016)
- As I stood back and considered Leona's book of two dozen thinkers and their perspectives on the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives, I realized that what I needed to do was to generate a set of poems which would bring relevant aspects to the fore as they related to photography, and our work as photographers and graphic artists in a variety of roles. I now look forward to being able to reflect and meditate on each of their perspectives in terms of my own photo-practice as any other reader would be doing, and allowing such perspectives to enrich my thought, life and work. Thank you Leona for providing this first layer of research and work so that we as photographers could listen afresh to these perspectives and hopefully find our photo/graphic arts practice enriched. "Leona's Book" [Reflections On Book Powerlines by Leona Frances Choy - Overall Book , 25/25] (Mar/26/2016)
