Initial Start Date - (16 / Nov/2016) - Guitar is great re music off the net and lyrics that fit. I see this as being an ongoing context for me in this project
Movies or short films are good for context for me, but are too slow for use as main focus at this point. The comments in Loom of Language that we buildwe build vocabulary by hearing a word and then connecting it to a context eventually was a good one. I can see the images tools fitting in here as well
I had been picking up a word "porque" and I decided to let the context inform me of its meaning once it emerged, and when I looked up the spanish version of one of my favourite hymns, there it was in the title! "Porque El vive" (Because He lives I can face tomorrow...)
Mar.3/17. While in Costa Rica in January I started using songs with lyrics and translations off the internet to chase down vocabulary and by selecting one word from a song per day and googling it, I learned tubs of things, especially about the functional words. Starting out each song by circling any words I already knew gave me some feedback on rapidly growing familiarity with the language. Now I am home, I find hearing those songs takes me right back to the context of my first working with them. Great fun!
