To Love Again

To love again, after these drifting years
Of struggle, strain, and tension-easing tears
Is sweet relief, hard times now fading fast
‘To persevere in love’s what makes it last’.

It’s forty years since man went to the moon
The dark side cut communication – soon
They re-emerged and talk resumed once more –
So much like life with those whom we adore.

Sometimes it’s sickness, work or troubled times
That come between us, separates two minds
It’s hard to bear, to push through silent years
When moon blocks out communication's tears.

Then suddenly it clears again – how great
The line-of-sight resumes – it’s not too late
To walk again and talk on through the night
To love again, and hold each other tight.
