Future Present

As future collapses
And past rolls away
The present as gift
Is what’s here for today.

Like holiday time
Which so vivid remains
Each moment a snowflake
No two quite the same.

They say that when camping
Our families draw close
To face tribulations
Recalled by us most.

The holiday slips by
More quickly each year
We savor each moment
Such memories so clear.

With time now foreshortened
More precious each day
I now view this season
The holiday way.
