“The Numbers Game” (Eph.6:12;Rom.8;Jn 15) [Sun Tsu First Half Re-Write – #3-6]

The numbers game makes sense, but here,
Paul’s comment makes the scene quite clear –
We’d better do, to ’bide in Christ,
For Satan’s ways are just not nice –

And we can’t count the enemy,
Or those whom God has patiently
Brought to this point – Christ’s task is here –
He sees, then makes His tactics clear.

“Move in; move out; sidestep; now back”
Our orders Christ lays out; in fact,
We must alert be as we go
To way Christ thinks, and what He knows.

“Go hug old Bertha up the block”,
Seems quite absurd, but as we walk
On in His way, that gives some room
For Spirit’s work – with impact soon.

What looks to us (appearances)
Like base for actions – clearances
To move ahead, or ease on back,
Unfounded are, in point of fact.

But what Christ holds out to us now,
Exciting is, as He allows
Us to partake in larger scene –
In acts of love and care He’s seen –

But we have not) – so ’bide in Christ;
Let orders given to us suffice
To pave the way for Victor’s day,
As Christ curtails old satan’s sway.

Thanks Lord for this.
