“The View From Inside” [Pandemic Isolation Series #1]

Not much has changed, for me, at least,
But others, now that freedom’s ceased,
Are finding life, relationships,
Quite hard to do – as balance tips –

Towards chaotic scene around,
And shortages of goods abound –
The lock-down, lightly still enforced,
Nerve-racking is – foods have no source.

One Priest in Italy (hard-hit)
Was given ventilator kit;
He passed it on to younger child –
Died recently – at life he’d smiled.

And that describes my life, this round,
Unlike first time, when doctor found
The cancer, then mistake was made –
Which “Wrapping up” for me engaged.

So, Lord, I carry on, and do
The things I still can do in You;
“Run out of life before work’s done”,
So many find is not much fun.

Lord, what’s ahead for world right now?
“Stu, carry on, as I allow
You days, or weeks, or months, or years,
Push through – address world’s present fears.

“For now, My care is good for you –
Stay open, as I ask you to;
Engage with this or that wee task;
Just carry out for Me what’s asked.

“Remember field – soul-soil cleaned up –
That was for now, when things get tough;
Folks did not listen much before;
So now, as illness bars the door.”

I pray for all engaged in life,
Amidst this current bit of strife;
Like Colin Morris (world-wide now),
Said prayer involved – and told us how –

“Be at disposal of our God;
As He points out, there as His sod,
Clay unto clay, engage each one;
In Christ each day now have some fun.”

Thanks Lord for this.
