“Refrigerator Stage” [Pandemic Quarantine Series #2]

As I look ’round at what’s afoot,
I’d size it up, ’least as I look
Around these days through window-glass,
As “In between one’s plate and trash”.

Just like refrigerator stage,
When dinner’s over, we all save
What’s left, to eat again “Real soon”;
Kept in the fridge if there is room.

Or in its freezer just above –
It keeps much longer, so we shove
It into cold to keep it fresh,
Until it’s mixed in with the rest.

Just weeks ago we heard how things
Were getting worse; now newscast brings
Us up to date on life abroad –
“We’re in between” here and the sod.

So life ahead constricted is
For everything from shops to biz;
Once storm has run its deadly course,
And we go back to work – resource –

Is focus on horizon now;
One tiny virus shows us how
All this “New age” quite fragile is
For folks laid off from shops and biz.

I think our kith and kin will see
How cyber-world pretends to be
Detached from people – net went down
Just yesterday – that’s what we found.

So Cyber-Giants, you’re still part
Of world with us – it’s time to start
To let the Lilliputians in,
Then maybe we can start again.

Thanks Lord for this.
