“The Kingdom’s Kiss” (Proverbs 10:4; Mt. 13:35) [Spanish Bible -Proverbs Series #10:4]

The economic aspect here
Is, to the reader, more than clear –
You sit around not making hay,
You’ll have no feed at end of day.

But Spanish has more meaning here
Which, to my mind, makes Proverb clear –
The academic hand that’s slack
Yields scholarship that’s somewhat lax.

Take Wisdom-lit (like Proverbs here) –
Where thought’s compacted – it comes clear
When we engage the text with mind
That’s fed when depths for gold are mined.

But take that Lazy-boy each day
Sit by the pool and frit away
Your chance to dig for nuggets deep
And all you’ll get is ample sleep.

Lord, as I hear these words today,
And in their depths let Spirit play
I listen through examples shown
On Google, what each Spaniard’s known –

From youth – the nuances of words,
Which this translator’s also heard
As he plumbed depths of Hebrew tongue
Then shared, in Spanish, meaning’s wrung.

I’ve heard the English since a kid,
So it’s old hat, keeps meaning’s hid
Beneath its commonality;
But Spanish words set meanings free!

Which says, “Hey Stu, dig out your gold
(Or pay for it from those who hold
Great treasure-troves of or for use),
Then setting poem-jewels loose –

Enhanced by photos which augment
Such written words with meanings lent
In subtle ways; like Wisdom lit,
Make readers dig – enriched by it.

For easy come is easy go –
“Augmented Text”, in this way, shows
laboriosa (working) hands
Rich treasures gain in English lands.

Thanks Lord for this.
