“The Distressing Side Of Fear” (1Jn.4:18; Mt.10:31) [Reflections on Ralph D. Sawyer's Translation of One Hundred Unorthodox Strategies - Battle Tactics of Chinese Warfare # 21-22B – #5/10]

If one is wise, but fearful is,
Distressing will become the biz
At hand; but perfect love casts out
All fear – of that there’s little doubt.

Not, “nambdy-pamdy-love”, that is,
But working for their welfare – ’tis
More difficult to live that way
Than for oneself, to make it pay.

We cannot deal with enemy;
That’s Jesus’ task – He sets us free
To walk the walk, and talk the talk
In Him – so there’s no need to balk –

At what He bids us say or do
To make some space (like play the fool)
So He can miracle transact;
Just give some space for Him to act.

For wisdom is the start of it,
And fear its end – don’t have a fit,
But rather on the Kingdom-layer
Live body-life; enacted prayer.

For He’s our wisdom, Kingdom home;
If you are “Wise”, and do not roam
From base above the din below,
You’ll share the keys to life you know.

“Keys of the Kingdom” was the term
Christ used – of Kingdom-life you learned;
You shifted base of life to there,
Above the fracas and despair.

So that’s the place for all to stand,
To live out life in Beulah-land,
Above the cause of fear below;
Wise-move indeed, you’ve come to know.

Thanks Lord for this.
