“The Ground That’s Lost” [Pandemic series]

When we cut back, to sail again
Tomorrow (done to cut the pain) –
As life returns, and storms subside,
The ground that’s lost we cannot hide.

Two years, no driving takes its toll
On most of us, but, if we’re old,
The impact doubles down on us;
Our “Edge” is lost amidst the fuss.

Can we regain the ground we left
When life kept us shut from the rest?
The young spring back with impact small;
For old? Strategic moves, now call.

There’s far less room for errors now,
So, as restrictions ease, somehow
We find ourselves assessing scene
For hope, amidst what once has been.

But we’ve been here before today –
Mankind has sought to find its way
In face of challenges galore –
Pandemics, floods, and loss from war.

So Lord, as life starts once again,
We shift to You each load of pain;
And thank You for this Kingdom-life,
Above, yet still engaged with strife.

Thanks Lord for this.
