“Of Heaven In Hell” (Lk 10:35-37) [Pandemic series]

We played this game long years ago,
With tables laden, you should know,
With chicken from the takeout store,
More than enough – but even more –

Importantly the scene was set –
Our arms were straight – we couldn’t get
The chicken to our mouths – for splints
Kept arms outstretched – all were convinced –

That we’d go hungry, midst the food,
’Till someone thought of something good –
“Just feed each other, not our face,
Then heaven will this hell displace.”

Lord, as the world recovers now,
Help us to needs of others bow
And trust, in that, we’ll all be fed,
Not left in roadside-ditch as dead.

Thanks Lord for this.
