“Level Paths” (Hebrews 12:13)

“Make level paths”, the author says,
“That things not get much worse;
You may be lame, and that’s no good,
At least don’t take a hearse”.

So how would that play out in time,
As we press on today?
Climb up on Kingdom-layer to live,
As kite, fly out and play.

Skate out on layer, encounter folks
Unscathed, with access cool
To serve them in your business-role,
Though attitudes be cruel.

Face challenges, with kith and kin
As back-up to your stance,
That as you then address the crowd
It’s more than joyful dance.

To me that’s level paths for life,
Unlike the world’s stone walls;
As smooth as glass along the shore
Of frozen lakes in fall.

Why would one still desire to use
The world’s rough rock-strewn roads,
Once one has heard of Kingdom-layer,
Found ease for heavy loads?

Lord, thanks for giving us a place
To stand, to walk, to grow,
Apart from world’s restricted ways –
Relief we’ve come to know.

Thanks Lord for this.
