"Fail To Surround" [Fawcett #33] (Psalm 11; 22; Matthew 2:36-46)

To press your case, bull-headed style,
Has place in life, but all the while
It needs a broader point of view,
Not quirky goals with nothing new.

So failure to surround the group,
Cut off supplies, is sorry soup;
Meat grinder of your Army’s strength,
You’ll spin your wheels and lose at length.

Then when a chance to get away
Is thwarted on that crucial day,
Your goose is cooked; you’ve had it chum;
The time for your surrender’s come.

You need someone above the fray,
Who views the scene a different way –
A mentor, coach, or general,
Who’s not caught up in ego’s swill.

I like view of 11th Psalm –
Some couriers have come along,
Said the King to run away –
“Flee like a bird – for there’s no way –

“You can survive who comes against
Your city with its weak defence”.
But he says no – big picture his –
“God fights with His Soroco biz.

So no, it’s not bull-headedness,
But rising up above the fuss;
Take second look at pinch you’re in –
Prayer at Gethsemane begin.
