If you’re thinking in your messy scene,
That you’re better, heaven-blessed you’ve been,
Maybe cool it, they might know some more –
Things keep changing, shifting final score.Times were changing, colonies were lost;
Some were laggards, heavy were their costs;
Europe held to Africa quite late,
Raped resources, wreckage to re-make.French returning to a former scene,
Resumed living as before they’d been;
Pushed their viewpoint far beyond absurd,
Into battle, arrogant, they lured –“Peasant army” – well not quite that way –
They got clobbered in the jungle way;
War is messy, no one knows it’s end;
Best avoided, sue for peace instead.Thanks Lord for this.
