TGIS (Thank God It’s Sunday)

Six days of work on building site
Has drained me out of body's might;
And even there not as before –
I’d exceed peers by one-third more.

Compared to others, I do now
Two thirds the work, and wonder how
At end of day they still go strong
While I already pant along.

It’s partly I worked “out of gift”
And where my skill-set needs a lift;
Completely mindless routine task
Strains my muscles and my back.

But as my mind shifts to this site
Of building houses – tasks done right
I have to fully focus such
That time to gather wool’s not much.

One week gone by – ‘enough’ I say!
A day of rest to think and pray
And let this body tired revive –
This Sabbath rest keeps me alive.
