A Shifted Point of View

Ms. Bondar gained as astronaut
Celestial view from air
And then returned to photograph
Earth’s viewpoint shaped up there.

This bullet dodged and brush with death
Has changed my outlook too
As I write now and photograph
Or share my point of view.

The doctor said he’d call me up
If tests a problem show
But arguments from silence hold
Great error, as we know –

Papers get lost, or get erased,
Fall down or get misfiled
While sin and evil love the space
That silences provide.

Too long in silence I have walked
These days of earthly bliss
I think from now I’ll bless the earth
With photographic kiss.
