“Now For That Famous Quote” ( ) [Sun Tsu First Half Re-Write B – #3-11]
One quote is known throughout the world today,
From thirteen chapters Sun Tzu had to say –
“Know self and enemy, you’ll always win;
Know half, it’s fifty-fifty (don’t begin!)“But knowing neither is straight foolishness –
You’ll lose them all: but many, nonetheless
Just blunder on, encounter so much pain
And loss, for in such action, there’s no gain.But Christ? He knows full well, both aspects – here
He makes the paths of victory quite clear;
The problem – well, that’s us, His “Body-parts”,
Through whom such love and caring He imparts.Lord, I appreciate this learning stance
On kingdom-layer – once we have had a chance
To catch our breath and get life straightened out;
You start to educate – remove all doubt –What’s going on – show evil and its ways;
How we succumb throughout life’s shortened days;
How we’re entrapped, in need of Jubilee –
Ka-boom! from Spirit by which we are freed.You teach techniques of love and care, as one,
Or as a group, now there’s a lot of fun!
Or as a nation – massive enterprise,
As You, at times, great forces mobilize.A challenge that – to learn to play our part,
As you engage the world to win their hearts;
Much greater is this challenge – learning love,
Than satan’s ways of combat – push and shove.Lord, thanks for this auspicious start today,
As you, through Sun Tzu, show a better way
We can take part, as You direct within
Our active lives, once occupied by sin –That is, “Rebellion”, jettisoning God
As central to all life (so, “quaint and odd”
In view of world); thanks for eternal life
Which beckons us – “Be children of the light”.So much for me to ponder in this way,
As You help me see, ’neath what Sun Tsu says,
Your truth, un-twisted, for us all to live,
As parts of body You engage to give –Mankind the freedom many long for here;
The piece of Kingdom-layer I now hold dear;
The chance to take on evil, not as “one”
But part of body-life – life in Christ, the Son.Thanks Lord for this.
