“The Walk” (Proverbs 10:9) [Spanish Bible -Proverbs Series #10-9]

It’s “Forthright authenticity”

But essence of it those words touch).

For whites, it’s more an action through
Which mystic process hides from view
What pictures mean – from darkroom days,
And mystic process of its ways.

As Creenglish, it is both for me –
It’s forthright authenticity
Through process mystical – one sees –
True statements made with clarity.

In Spanish text word, rodeó –
Like lariat as it would go
Around the cowboy’s calf when roped –
One circling ’round in words he spoke.

This can be done to soften text
One needs to speak, but is so vexed
Words will offend the listener’s ears,
Breaking a friendship (which one fears).

So in this proverb which we read
Who goes with authenticity
Is firmly placed upon his feet;
Beat around the bush, folks truth will seek –

’Till it’s uncovered later on
When all the bafflegab is gone;
Lord, what I hear is “Kingdom-kiss” –
Tool for your use, Stu, after this”.

When silver-based went digital
Mystique was gone – no chemicals
Smelled up the shop, or wagon-tent,
With it the culture-code was rent.

Then Photoshop, Affinity,
Brought back mystique – complexity
Has now restored whites’ culture-code,
Thus freeing pix to carry load.

It’s all about post-processing,
For cameras now make pictures sing
Straight from the camera these days –
Just Photoshop mystique conveys.

That doesn’t mean rodeó’s rope
Can’t use such a means to hide the scope
Of meanings carried in each Pix –
Authentic mystery will fix –

Firmly some message in one’s mind,
Like story-fragments – one may find
Within such pictures – meaning’s clear,
Slipped through defenses far from here.

But this is where the problems come,
For Photoshop has now become
A tool to lead one from the truth,
To make-believe along its route.

It’s used to doctor up each pix –
Take twenty pounds of subject’s hips;
Remove a blemish; smooth out skin;
Some missing person? Blend him in.

When photos came upon the scene,
They amplified the truth – now seen
Was detail, and a distant land,
Or evidence for courtroom stand.

The myth became, “Pix do not lie –
But rather, help to show us why
Our world and its events were thus;
Reducing memory-loss as such”.

So that begs question – where to now?
Push bafflegab now we know how?
Or is it more like language ways,
Just twisted since at Eden’s days?

I’d come to see the language prob –
And need to fix it – thus the job
Of language-learning starts with God –
Which, to the world, is downright odd.

For language is a tool today
To “Get ahead”; and “Make it pay”;
“Manipulate”; “Express your will” –
Post-Eden’s gates, a liar’s thrill.

Photography thus catches up
With language-use, which makes it tough;
Photography – a tool of truth?
Conveying truth through storied route?

The Proverb says sincerity,
Authentic statements, solidly
Establish footing for us all;
So stay authentic most of all.

It does no good to circle ’round
The truth – in end it will be found;
For man lives in a sea of slime –
“Trust God, not man” says Bible line.

“Love men (that’s work for welfare his),
In daily life and world of biz;
Not for your gain, but soften truth –
Give Word that aids him on life’s route.

Now that says, “God through man (that’s us)”
His love, and care, and words that touch
With healing, guidance, truth, and life,
To all around – “Let there be light”.

So, Lord, in this case, presently,
As I through Spanish text now see
Your word to us (through many words),
You’re saying, “Help My truth be heard –

“Don’t pull My punches, water down
The truth enlivened which you’ve found
To be of use by one or all –
‘Authentically secure – walk tall’.”

“Distill until the truth is clear,
Then share such insights far and near;
Don’t mealy-mouth with bafflegab;
Though you can obfuscate a tad –

For treasures found are treasures loved;
So make folks work, think from above;
Thus to the Kingdom-layer entice,
From pleasantries of world that’s “Nice”.
