“Reduce The Drain” [Sun Tsu First Half Re-Write #2B – title and #1]
It works both ways when process is
To love not hate within your biz –
Reduce the drain by thinking first,
And in your mind your acts rehearse.Up front there’s costs to loving big,
And maintenance when gone from digs
At home, so best you raise it first,
Else down the road there’s hunger, thirst. For love has side that’s practical,
To fund strategic-tactical
Offense, defense, if one would win,
Once love’s impact you would begin.Lord, I’d not thought about that fact –
That wave of love, when not held back,
Costs just as much to build folks up,
As tear them down with actions tough.I think of “Ray” – “One-twenty-man”
Drew up the budgets – “Business” ran,
That we might cope out in the field
As loving arm – that satan yield. He was an unassuming guy,
A giver-type, far more – for I
Am an encourager at top,
With giver-side as second walk. And we did good things on the res
(Though learning trade’s what I did best);
I helped them out a bit, though young –
“You’re there to learn, out there among –“Some leaders, elders, wise old folks,
Whose quiet ways and endless jokes
Give room for you to grow each day,
While comprehending Native ways.“That someday down the road, perhaps,
From other side of fence you’ll pass
On wisdom gained – My way (through acts
Of living out My Master-tacts)”.Well, Lord, they did invest in me –
Both sides, in fact, blessed me to be
Of use – so that’s an “Upfront” cost,
Before into the battle tossed. And maintenance (despite my whine),
Came through for me, oft just in time
To keep Your process moving on,
Like church’s preaching, prayer, and song.Lord, thanks for that; now showing me
That it’s been done, quite fittingly
By ordinary folks who tithed,
To keep this soldier-boy alive. Thanks Lord for this.
