“Trash-Talking God” [Spanish Jerusalem Bible Series - Job sub-series - # 3:1] (# Job 3:1; 1:5; 2:9; Matt.12:32)
Maldijo (curse) or “Trash talk” we would say,
Is central part of Job in its own way –
It starts with Job, his kids trash-talking God,
As careless folks who live here on this sod.Then wife of Job says, “Trash-talk God, then die,
Instead of moaning loudly to the sky”;
But Job refuses – turns his opening view
To trash-talk of his birth-day – wouldn’t you?We bad-mouth, trash-talk lots in life today,
But Jesus gave a caution in His day –
“Say what you wish of Father, and the Son,
But not the Spirit – with that thought be done.“For Spirit is our guide throughout the day;
Without it, we so quickly lose our way;
So watch your step when life comes crashing down –
In trouble, Spirit’s good to have around.”Thanks Lord for this.
