“Still Life”

There’s still some life in silver-stills I see,
Exciting nonetheless for likes of me;
Some artists shoot in silver film and scan
Results in megapixels – camera can –

Make images of awesome quality;
New tools emerged to make the issues flee,
Which stopped me cold – oh well, can’t do it all –
I verge on pack-rat – stacks are eight feet tall.

Lord, thanks for that solution to my pix;
I’ve kept the negs, and now they can be fixed
In digital – both safe and cheap that way,
And quick for what remains for me of day.

Some PVC, light tablet, macro lens;
Remote release so camera shaking ends;
Affinity has software, Lightroom too;
With plug-in good for copy-work I do.

All this transpired as I pressed on with life –
“Transition time” I lived through with my wife;
She does the mini-movies I do stills;
Between the two of us it brings us thrills.

So Lord, I thank you for technology –
It’s obsolete of course, but now I see
One can adapt residual from past,
So best plus best extends its life at last.

Thanks Lord for this.
