This Dando con alegria
(I give with gladness) – raises up
A question in my mind just like
It did at church – it sets things right –On Sunday morning as I read
The Sabbath lesson, where You said
To me, Lord Jesus, “Hey there, Stu,
This is the line that’s meant for you –“For in the past, with gladness, you
Gave to My work, in ways quite new,
But then it came right off the rails,
Which was okay, but this assails –“Not just your Sitzemlaben there
In Brandon, but, when it’s compared
To what was going down before,
This word’s for you, and there’ll be more.”That led to Spanish as a text
To follow through – this passage set
A way to pick up from before
(Beats one more heading out the door).He squelched the fun right out of church,
But hey! Perhaps “Get off my perch”
Is requisite ’round there, today;
Ignore the past that’s passed away –Take up again Your joyful task
Of “Giving gladly” as I’m asked,
Not as a form, coerced or bid,
More, “What I can”; “Get off the lid” –And re-configure life today;
Continue in Your joyful way
To conduit be for Your resource –
“Encouragement without remorse”But even more, “Be joyful in
My giving, freeing folks from sin –
Affront to evil be each day,
And that includes these folks, this way.Hmmmm – Thanks for this Lord.
So what could that involve ’round here?
I ask – O Lord, please make it clear;
“Stu, finish up your Scripture gift
For Pedro’s folks – give them a lift –“Not perfect, that’s for him to make;
Give him the model, parts, to take
To his new home in Calgary –
Give that to them with gladness, be –“My Johnny-on-the-spot in this –
Forget the other stuff – the bliss
Of the giving that with inner glee,
Will serve My purposes – for he –Is type who learns by being ’round
Another – in his way he’s found
What works, then does it, but it’s broke –
So that’s the part in book you wrote –Just like that lady, server too,
Who wants to write a book like you –
So I’ve got others he’s to meet
In Calgary – your gift is sweet.”Okay Lord, thanks for this.
