“Trust” (Matt.5:37;Prov.3:5-6; Jer.17:51; 1Cor.13 ) [Reflections on Ralph D. Sawyer's Translation of One Hundred Unorthodox Strategies - Battle Tactics of Chinese Warfare #9]
This word is at the heart of things,
For trust in God assurance brings;
But trust in man quite foolish is –
This is not Eden’s place of biz.What we are meaning here is, “Risk”,
“Degree of risk”, one might insist
Is really what is up for grabs;
“Perhaps”, “Mawin”, “Maybe”, I’m glad –To use, for it keeps on their toes
The ones who hear what no one knows;
It’s best when one in silence stays,
And does not share projected ways.A “Range” for goals, and not a “Point”,
Much better is – when we at anoint
Some goal as sacrosanct, it’s not;
It means, “Far and above all talk”.And that’s okay as topmost goal;
To others make a set – unroll
All three to give a better pix –
“Worst case” and “Good” are in the mix.That gives a “Range”, and view of “Flow” –
From “Point” a “Trend on graph” can go,
As time’s a factor – “How are things?”
What could tomorrow’s effort bring?”We talk ourselves into a fix,
As if all factors which exist
Can be controlled – Hey! This is war!
Get real – that’s what a “Range” is for.All speech in war strategic is,
Or tactical – you have no biz
Expressing words beyond that point;
Be circumspect around your joint.Don’t hope folks will reciprocate;
They won’t – they will not hesitate
To take what’s theirs and something more,
So don’t paint self away from door.If you must speak, do it with acts
Of love – take time to gather facts,
Then, for the other’s welfare act;
Much better course of action that.Thanks Lord for this.
