It’s all in how they’re viewing you –
Committing selves to live their view,
They put themselves out on a limb
Where thick appears as mostly thin.

To me the problem in our day
Is we buy what the serpent says –
“You’ll be like God – know right and wrong,
On which you’ll base your victory song”.

Quite gullible folks really are
In buying “Fact” that near is far;
And far is near; that weak is strong;
And strong is weak – that they belong –

To side that is the better one,
By birth or choice (just half have won
The battles since the dawn of time –
“But as for us, we’ll make out fine!)”

Lord, really, we have not a clue,
And if we’d stop the things we do
And ask a few more questions now,
We’d win the day as You allow.

And when it’s not good to attack,
For reasons known to You, pull back
(Like in the SVP malaise)
We’ll see in long-term, better days.

Lord, You said once, “Disinterest” seems
To be our way of life – which means
The enemy, who could care less,
Thinks we’re the same, and second-best.

But random acts, which flow from You,
Take all this in, hence, what we do
Looks “Harmless”, with “No interest here”,
Until too late, when things come clear.

So what I’m hearing, cash and power
Are like the rest – deceptive are
Appearances both ways, so be
Abiding in the One who sees.

Like, we don’t have to lie – they’ll think
The foolishness that’s really linked
To father of all lies, indeed –
They’ll take the routes they think they need.

Sometimes were called upon to lay
Our lives down, let them have their way,
When actually it’s just not true –
It’s satan whose deceived by You.

Lord, this is way beyond our scope,
Yet roles You ask of common folk
Are doable, with meanings high,
Regardless if we live or die.

For that’s the nature of the game
Of life – for all it is the same –
“Walk out of Eden – you will die”
You said to us, with reasons why.

So who’s behind this evil way?
Why, Satan – he rebelled, some say,
And lures us with the second-rate,
So he a killing then can make.

Lord, thanks for this almighty voice,
With which you give us better choice
In life, encourage us to know
It’s depth – then all the others show.
