“Solo – So Low” (1Cor.12; 15:24-28) [Reflections on Ralph D. Sawyer's Translation of One Hundred Unorthodox Strategies - Battle Tactics of Chinese Warfare # 21-22B – #9/10]

“The self-reliant “Solo” man
Who skims the galaxies, and can
“Leap buildings at a single bound”,
Quite often ends up on the ground.

Events confound the best of us;
It’s best we’re not alone when fuss
Arises, wrecking up our plans,
Or we’ll sink tires in the sand.

Our resolution to press on
Can worsen what has now gone wrong;
It’s body-life in Christ, or we
We’ll soon quite sad and lonely be.

This guy says hang with other folks –
But allergy to other blokes
Clicks in quite fast (God’s antidote
To allergies in them – no joke).

But working as a body-part
Is something else – if we would start
Such life and work, we need to be
In Christ, His task in glory see.

For we’re His body, head is He;
His task’s defeating evil – see
In Romans fifteen, twenty-four
To twenty-eight, to learn some more.

Thanks Lord for this.
