“The Courage To Change” (Psalm 119:105)

The shutting down is quite complete these days
In social life, as world this game it plays,
Of ethnocentric boundary-building schmuck;
Though Kingdom-layer now I’m on – what luck!

For I don’t have to heed those stony walls
I sensed were there since back in school-day halls,
Which played their role these seven decades past –
As gift of God, restricting human tasks.

We’re kept alive, restrictions on our ways
Through centuries, because our sinful case
Needs allergies to slow us down a bit;
Not nice, but we’re still here because of it.

So what am I freed up to do it last,
Here on this Kingdom-layer, scope so vast?
Not every day, but on this sunny day –
What small, but vital role can this man play?

“Stu, you’ve got lots to do as central task;
Contributing your bit as well, I’ve asked
You to do now – so prepositions learn;
It isn’t much, but don’t beginnings spurn.

“Like para which you used just yesterday,
That’s linked to verbs, like por to nouns – I say
That they’ve rung out for centuries in Spain,
Since days when to that land the Romans came.

“So many times those words have carried freight;
Expressed from aching hearts excessive weight;
Like prayer you took – valor – to top your page,
And cambiar, with courage of the Sage –

“To change, with para in between those two;
“In order to” (or for) built prayer for you –
A Kingdom-layer prayer, restrictions gone,
To bridge those folks who cannot get along.

“Not take down walls, but boundary-cross with ease;
Gain treasures for a life, lived on your knees;
For people copy you, some learn your ways
Of living from a lifestyle crossing plays.”

So, slow ’er down and savor each new word,
And learn to use them in the way they’re heard;
For that way you can gain new light each day,
To light your paths, as Scripture pages say.

Okay Lord, thanks for this.
