"Just Do It - Now"  [Reflections on Chris Orwig's Book Visual Poetry - Chapter 4 – 2] (Mark 10:15)

The roots go down, the tree grows up,
Just do the craft, don’t say, “enough”,
And you’ll get on the path somehow;
Your voice will come as you allow –

Yourself to see, and say your piece;
Pursuit of fame let go – released
To others in the bleachers – boys
And girls content to make a noise.

For there are others in your game,
Their objects sometimes are the same;
“Hang with the winners”, Robbins quips,
No winner in his deck-chair sits –

But rises up like pirates bold,
Who plied the seas in search of gold;
Adventure high, “All in” they’d say,
And do their lives seafaring way.

So make your art, and then one more;
Press for the top; stop keeping score;
Life’s awfully short, get on with it –
Don’t be content to laurel-sit.
