The Way Made Clear
Okay, O Lord, as I return to work,
I see where we left off – no need to shirk
My duties as I move along today:
You showed me late last night, of course,
“Do photos of their work, full force”,
And title page we laid out as the way.Lord, that’s exciting – that small gift,
As You today my burden lift,
And carry me across this stretch of sand;
That Patrick Geddes showed the way
It all hooks up, so I today
Can go ahead, shape pictures in this land.Resource-extraction is the way
Mankind survives since Adam’s day,
And culture forms around the ways we work;
So work’s the interfacing task
Which we all do, as parts You ask –
We’re all included, none on sidelines lurk.Lord, as I start this task today,
Help me in focus now to stay,
As culture, work, and earth take this new shape;
In You stay firmly carried forth,
Do this and that for all I’m worth,
In You these picture-books for all create.Lord, thanks for this defining task,
As I go forward, Father ask
For resource needed as we move from here;
As I look ’round, it’s as You said,
That we’d be carried, graced, and fed,
And find in You indeed our way made clear.Lord, I’m so grateful for Your grace
That I in You, not find disgrace
But mercy ever-lasting on my way;
As You go forth and carry us,
We move ahead, ignore the fuss,
And see, in You, triumphant happy day.Thanks, Lord, for this.
