Two Options (Sun Tzu 5:5a) (Galatians 5:22-25; 1 Cor. Chapters 12-13)

Five notes, and colors, and flavors, each,
But combinations endless reach
So far that we cannot perceive
The endless patterns which they weave.

Thus scales of notes, and tones of sounds,
Make melodies in endless rounds,
With variations rising up,
And combinations quite enough.

The hues of color to the eye,
Are limitless to visualize;
They cannot be completely seen
As combos infinite have been.

The tastes and flavors in the pot,
When mixed and blended till we’ve got
A gallery of tasty treats –
Salt, acrid, sour, bitter, sweet.

And when it comes to battle time,
Two kinds of force attack the line;
For combat power, “Shik” in Chinese,
Quite simple is – the types are these:

The first is Orthodox – direct
Attack that’s regular, and met
In normal style of battle fought;
That’s why they call it Orthodox.

The second is surprise attack;
Unorthodox – confronting at
A time and place irregular –
No ordinary fight occurs.

These interweave in endless ways;
Their variations Sun Tzu says
Are endless – who can comprehend
Such mixtures? Seems there is no end.

For one begets the other type –
Gives way to each throughout the fight,
Like circles, rings which interweave
There is no breach which one can see.

There is no endpoint to this mix;
One folds to other’s bag of tricks;
One can’t exhaust or limit them;
One ends, the other starts again.

“I am the Alpha”, Jesus said,
“Omega too – by Me be led,
And I will guide you in the fight –
My ways are high, and strong, and right.
