The Math Check (Sun Tzu 1:8) (1 Timothy 3:1-7)

A master – or a general –
Must do the math – or lose he will;
Must know and understand it all;
Must juggle it – not let it fall.

Assignment for comparison,
Then calculate – can it be won?
Seek facts to check all claims of truth;
Assess both sides ’fore sending boots.

Decision based on factors five,
Can keep most soldier boys alive;
Use care, and then go out to ask,
Don’t take their words – check out the facts.

The purpose? See who winner is,
Before they march to the fighting biz;
Predictions, part reliable,
Are way to see what’s viable.

Step one – which sovereign has “the way”?
Sets up a moral cause and says,
“Come join the one whose way is right;
Let truth prevail – come join the fight!”

Step two, assess the leadership –
Out on the field – the better fit?
Which leader is most capable?
That shows which way one vote should go.

To which derives the benefit
Of heaven and earth – can work with it
To turn it to advantages?
Terrain – from different vantages.

Whose discipline effectively
Lets laws, instructions, orders be
Attended to with utmost speed,
And quality to meet some need?

Whose troops make up the stronger foes?
Which weapons best to army go?
Strong troops augmented by good tools,
Work well when leaders are not fools.

Which soldiers are the better trained?
Which officers are better brained –
With all that intellect employed,
So troops do not become annoyed?

Which system of rewards are clear?
Which breach brings punishment most feared –
With merits justly, quickly fed,
Misdeeds to punishment get led?

So there you have it, seven things,
Each based on factors five – which brings
Us to assessment – “go – no go?”
Get facts, do math, then you will know.

If dollars each one soldier be,
How this applies in business – see
Its use, “You use my soldier-men
Keep them from harm, bring loot again.
