“The (Twenty-Five Year) Time Capsule”
We opened up the “capsule” box
From ’neath the bed, let contents talk
To us of life and family
Two decades past – amazes me!At turn of century we made
This snapshot – in the box we laid
The bric-a-brac of life at point
Of time – now decades pass, anoint –It with the echoes of the past –
Our seniors who have now all passed;
Wee baby grown to manhood, now,
With siblings, cousins, time’s allowed.Lord, this is “half-life” given to us;
Add on two decades, through the fuss
That might be coming down the road,
And “peace-full” will seem capsule’s load.Okay Holy Spirit thanks for this.
