“All New”
O Holy Spirit, as we age in place,
I notice it’s “uneven”, time’s displaced;
First “forty-eight” to “eighty-three” was jump;
Now “eighty-three” to “hundred” is the bump.So where do added years slide into scale?
In first, “extended teen-years” here prevailed;
The third-world lagged in life-extension bit;
But they’ll catch up, experience that blip.A further piece was added – “working life”
At start expanded – two-point-two kids, wife;
But now this slot’s expanding (“fifty-five”
To “sixty-five” is solid – boomers thrive).The part I notice is a gap’s emerged –
For “Eighty’s” now “One hundred” where the verge
Of life beyond this one has later start,
A gap is left – where we can do our part.Now that’s exciting, Lord, I had not seen
How, opened up, this sector here has been
Laid out on brand-new aspects for our lives –
Hope to the “hopeless years” before one dies.“Stu, that’s the paradigm to pioneer –
Engage it, cut a trail, to make it clear
That life within this gap now has a place,
To live, and move, have being, in this space.Re-frame it like your fix to Burma Road –
Upgraded value with that asphalt load;
Here, health adjustment’s opened up the space;
Now fill it as exciting time and place.Okay Holy Spirit thanks for that.
