“Hit And Run” (S-T-U,” /Anne,s Acres Series)

I find that “hit and run”, O Lord
Is difficult, when at Your Word
You say, “get in; get out, there Stu
If you would know what’s good to do”.

Because what I think is so small
Like island with its “Tzu-sea” wall
Is like a set of hockey boards
And I get “home” sick for rewards.

Again, again it’s “shut up, Stu”
Which is not what I’m wont to do,
In part because the “feelings-track”
Is base of friendships – which I lack.

And feelings get me into pain;
Art therapy released the same,
To bring release and insight clear,
But that just helps “get out of here”.

Lord, I don't know quite what to do
Like one component in the stew
Does not make Stu, I’m just one part
With barriers – but how to start –

Engaging without change of place
“The geographic cure” which case
Brings short-term easing of the pain
But soon we meet old Stu again.

O Lord! I see it – Andrew’s “fix”
Of fix you fixed to fix his fix,
Is problematic to the core –
It means you’ll have to fix some more.

And in his case he’s training staff,
In ways which make old satan laugh –
“How to be ‘junior pastor’ when
His model different message sends.

When he’s the junior to his church
“Equipping Saints” is task that’s first;
“A servant be”, You said to us,
So, model that – well, lots of luck!

Lord, that’s a “flip” if e’er I’ve seen
One anywhere – “not how it’s been
Laid out for us from cradle to
The grave in all we humans do!”

Stu, there’s your novel – play it out
In text, between the lines, no doubt
Should linger in the readers’ minds
How life was meant for humankind

So – Yonge Cho in Ottawa
Was right – but what that Prophet saw
Could play out well in pastorate
If we could just appreciate –

Enormity of what’s before
Us in this case, we’d know the score
And set about (perhaps) our task,
Where impact might fix church quite fast.

O Lord that boggles up my mind –
Ah! “Have your mind with humankind”
As Paul advised – “and humble self
To people ’round – augment their health.”

Thanks Holy Spirit for this.
