“Dissociation” (ref: Matt.7:24-27)
This little fading of the mind, O Lord,
Is disconcerting – so absurd – but hard
To reconcile with any aspect here,
Or from the past, to keep its focus clear.The modeled-life of those who’ve walked ahead
Who now are fading fast, with many dead,
Is not an inspiration or a hope,
To those of us who lose each day more scope –Scope of a future life which centres in;
Scope of a life of ease retirement brings;
Scope of a world left better than we found
When we began as adults – looked around.We came when World War II had just wrapped up;
We came as 60’s children, boomers – tough
To reconcile New Age with ‘old’ that’s now
About to be dismantled – holy cow!Maybe that’s it! With silliness now gone,
And new folks stepping up with their new songs,
We get to touch the basic rock of life,
On which to place foundations for the strife.Who knows, perhaps indeed to this we’re called
To celebrate the truth, no longer stalled
In life like all the rest who hope-less are –
Move on, press in, stand up, we can go far!O Holy Spirit, thanks for Roadmap days;
For Stephie and her tribe who found some ways
To press ahead – with head down, on they go;
Repeating, in their ways, the parts they know.It’s time, I sense, to claim The Net as ours;
To soldier on despite our wounds and scars;
Not let old satan claim it as his home
But rather tame “Wild West” – our place to roam.Okay Holy Spirit thanks for this.
