O Holy Spirit, folks don’t see
That churning chaos soon will be
Upon us, long-delayed I guess,
As we played “better” than the rest.The problem’s “better’s” meaning now –
Not as Your “best” in Christ allows,
But as the folks past Eden’s door
Define our “better” – “getting more”.“Stu, I know, I knew all along
It couldn’t last, but you belong
To Christ’s fair Kingdom-crew in Me,
Which is the best place one can be.“Much better than you had before;
Much better than just having more;
Much better than outside the door:
Much better, Stu, with ‘blessed’ restored.“For you’re no ‘better’ than the rest;
Not better in that sense – but blessed,
Just like you bless the kids each week,
Then through its days their welfare seek."Lord, it’s a mess around me now,
As well as in myself, so how
Are we supposed to clean this up,
When dirty are both sides cup?You trained me for a purpose, now
I fear “they” won’t your gifts allow
To issue forth upon this land –
So “they” might never understand.“It’s okay Stu, just wield your pen;
It’s stronger than the sword, so bend
Your shoulder to your wheel, and show
Your fellows ways which they might go.Okay Holy Spirit thanks for that.
