“My Current State”
O Holy Spirit in this day, and age,
I’m finding challenges quite new which rage
Within me, raise new aspects of this life
I had not seen, for age and stage it weren’t right.But now I hear and see what’s passed away,
As hormones shift, Your life sees light of day;
In ways quite clear now “rain” of song is through,
And I can see my path to Wisdom’s view.Like Proverbs’ Intro (chapters one through nine),
Which gives a context – “father” – “son of mine”,
And so forth – now, I hear the “Elder’s voice”
First Nations know of – words to guide life’s choice.So words I hear now open up my eyes –
Like women’s wiles, and man’s response, which flies
In face of lore in West, “it’s not that way,
For I am sweetness, sugar, spice”, they say.“Go back and read that Proverbs opening set;
It speaks of this, the book is not to get
The newbie only – folks of any age,
For wisdom helps us all, at any stage.”Okay Holy Spirit thanks for this.
