“Fighting against God” (Acts 5:12-42 – Especially 17-42)

We like to see ourselves with God in this –
Like “God-squad”, term from yesteryear of bliss;
But we, as humans on both sides are found,
As we’re attracted to some cause that’s sound.

“Unstoppable” appeals to power’s lust
(Though not a part of speaker’s thoughtful thrust);
We’d like to surf some wave as it rolls in,
Impressing viewers as we dip and spin.

I sensed such challenge in my post last eve –
From mocking tone one aspect would not leave
My thoughts – “Did you hear that, My friend?” You asked;
And in that simple question, shadow passed –

Like Peter's shadow o'er my broken heart,
Where by the curb I lay desiring start
To life anew – “get attitude brought ’round
To place of helping those who’ve trouble found.

“For you’ve been rescued, helped, assisted, fed;
By those before you; gently you’ve been led
Into deployment which lies up ahead,
Through “geometric growth”, as story said.

So knock it off there, we've got work to do,
With you in Christ ahead, as He’s in you;
Effect of shadow was not Pete, of course,
But Spirit of the living God – resource –

For all and sundry who enlist in Him –
We all can shadow-healing-life begin,
As we're in Christ, and let the Savior in
To deepest recess, be released from sin.

O Holy Spirit, as I leave this place,
Reflective time for self, receiving grace;
Please open eyes, and ears, and heart, and mind,
To sense in need, the way You would be kind.

Thanks Holy Spirit for this.
