“An Opening Prayer” [Reflecting while on the plane (“bubble mobile) “going in”]

Ah, yes! So that’s how things went down –
He saw me as I played around
At Robertson – not as I was
(As “Missionary” – there because –

I saw “I’d fit – if I would fit”,
As he expressed his take on it);
No longer teen with lifeguard skills,
Or rec director, one who wills –

To play guitar and be a pal;
Teach photo-skills to guys and gals;
He got it wrong – I had grown up,
And of all that I’d had enough.

Well, thank you Jesus, Spirit too;
And Father-God – I’m thanking You
For 'A-u-D' they gave to me
Their way – autodidacticly!

For You’re not fooled, but make Your way
Despite such antics, yesterday,
Tomorrow, just as here today –
And set us free to work and play.

For You’re in us, in all of us;
You understand that things are tough
Because we choose to live our lives
In thrall of satan’s scams and lies –

To keep us blind, yet have us see
What’s all around – then set us free
Amidst some “Island in the Sea”,
To deal with what’s not part of Thee.

Well, now we hover o’er the sand;
We contemplate the “foreign” land;
Anticipate encircling shores –
Ten types to help us focus more.

Like “London’s game” – it’s all we’ve got
With us when plane comes to a stop –
Make do – make life, ’till others come –
Three days – time flies – for everyone.

So soon we’ll be on “Desert Isle”
Where we will live, make out a while;
Lord grant us eyes and ears that we
Might in Your living presence be.

Grant all forgiveness for our pasts;
Grant all a future life at last,
That all who live here – kith and kin –
Might be, with us, set free from sin.

That is, “Rebellion from our God”,
Here practically upon this sod –
Until the day or evening comes
When we move on to “Kingdom-come”.

Thanks Holy Spirit for this.
