“Anticipation” (As We Circle the Island Beach for Landing)

It will soon be awfully busy at the start of life forthwith,
Getting stuff down off the aircraft, meeting folks, (handshakes or kiss?);
What will happen past this tarmac as new quarters we engage?
Working out our lives together, as we turn another page.

Lord we’ve been here, yet to we haven’t, we’re prepared, yet not at all;
We’re just like the other “natives”, on this isle since Adam’s fall;
We are blind, and deaf, yet seeing, hearing just like all the rest;
Spirit, this is so much better than preparing-days we’ve left.

There’s so much that will need doing as we gather up our things;
Maybe no one’s here to greet us; still it’s thrilling – my heart sings;
So I’ll play guitar, make photos, share my skills with gals and guys;
We’ll make friends, and have our struggles, for remainder of our lives.

Father-God and Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ, Savior and Lord,
Feed us with Your bread from heaven, bring to life eternal Word;
Open hearts to those around us, soon impacting on our lives,
As we seek to put our roots down, finding ways for all to thrive.

Thank You for this new beginning which we’re catapulted to;
Thank You for this new engagement, metamorphic – all things new,
In this miracle of aging, from a grub to butterfly,
Winging skywards in the sunshine – last adventure ’fore we die.

Thank You for past leaves and treetops – food for growing through each stage;
Thank You for the folks who taught us – giving wisdom for these days;
Thank You for the people waiting in the wings of our new home;
Thank You for this new beginning – this new homeland where we roam.

Thanks Lord for this.
