Some Talmudic sections, just like in the West,
Appear heavy-handed and very complex,
When viewed from an outside perspective and time,
But set in their context, they’re often sublime!So too with the Quran when read now-a-days –
Mind-boggling’s precepts on which the word plays;
But stripped back to start of its journey through life,
It falls into place with astounding advice!Religion and systems of spiritual ways
Inform the specifics of need in the days
In which they emerged, with guidance in strife;
Within larger context of eternal life.For we are specifics of genome writ large,
In worlds ever-changing, and contexts quite hard;
Our leaders aren’t perfect; flocks’ movements are slow,
Despite need for changes – as all people know.So give, Holy Spirit, Your patience and grace,
That we all cool down with the issues we face;
Help all to be guided, informed, and addressed,
By leaders who shift to life’s highest and best.Thanks Holy Spirit for this.
