“To the Man-er Born ” (Language through the magnifying eye of Photography - Reflection on the Photo work of Valery Galvin ) [Interpretive Photography Series #1 ]

This man (and wife –colab’rator)
Came to this land – he worked with her
And graphic artist – portrait type –
Linguistic-photos, staged with bite.

They brought themselves into this land,
Revealing work – their homeland can
Be seen and sensed – symbolic views
Of selves entwined with words re-nude (sic).

They hailed from Russia, so I’m told;
Their works reflected themes quite bold,
For juxtaposed on face and flesh
Were ancient symbols, words of text.

The role of language to us all
Is central – that way since the fall;
Through figures of a fleshly speech,
To West through mysticism reach.

Thanks Holy Spirit for this.
