“In behind A Pay-wall” (Reflections on Info Chase course)

The problem with the online research gig,
Is best advice lies in behind a lid
Which costs some cash to lift it off the jar,
Where all the juicy info-tidbits are.

“Who pays for that I ask, as I tune in
To help us freelance-researchers, begin
To make some hay – assisting where we can,
Folks find some info fast, with research plan.

“Oh, that can be negotiated when
You find a client – to some task you’ll lend
Your expertise” – Yeah, right – at least the slaves
Use owner’s tools to work ’till in their graves.

This line of thought about such gigs as these,
Compares our scene to that of slavery –
“The ones who make the cash are at the top,
Abusing slaves, with no one there to stop –

“Their foolish ways – then systems all find ways
To make allowances, for now they pay
The piper who can generate the cash
With whip and spur – as long as profit lasts”.

Why tolerate a state of things like this?
“Survival of the fittest”, all insist;
“Big fish eat little fish”; “Why, can’t you see?
Someday at top of heap we all could be”.

“Steal, kill, destroy” – those watchwords still are seen
To be the best in “world” that life can be;
But that’s not true, that’s satan’s twisted way
Of doing life – was once, still is today –

“Employees wages, benefits, you’ll save,
By driving down such people to their graves;
“Employment change to contracts, gigs, and hire –
You’ll reap more profits – then you can retire.”

Thanks Lord for this.
