“Outer Versus Inner Terrain” [Kingdom-layer reflections on ‘Health and Wellness’ series - Fx Q andA]

A subtle shift from outwards in,
Gets us off-track once we begin
To trace the factors deep inside
The surface layer – our “tender hide”.

It’s one thing to keep focus on
Terrain outside (where we belong
As coaches to a hurting world
Of men and women, midst, their swirl).

But we’re conditioned to “The fix” –
Our TV shows bring in this mix
Of medics, nurses, front-line crews,
Addressing crises – stuff of news.

But then, our task is, “Fix the soil
In which roots grow – we do not toil,
With upper trunk, and branches, leaves,
Bent out of shape with some dis-ease.

We must keep focus on the “soil”;
We work up-stream from water boiled
In kettles down in modern world –
Our job’s prevent tomorrow’s swirl.

But we must know chain of events –
“What leads to what?” “When it gets bent,
How could that be addressed upstream,
That “Water quality” be seen?”

Our danger is to move downstream –
Not all the way – but when it’s seen
That we have made that subtle shift,
We need to make our exit, quick!

Prevention is the watchword now –
Not “Fix them up” – that’s not allowed;
It’s best we do not mess with that,
Lest we upon our face, fall flat.”

Thanks Lord for this.
