“The Original Vision?” [Kingdom of God series] (Exodus 19:6)

“A Kingdom of priests you’ll be on earth;
A sanctified nation I’ll give birth
To, treasured possession you will be,
If you will obey – agreement keep.”

So You set aside, with role as priests;
This vision emerged, which now I seek,
So I can take in Your vision, Lord,
As first expressed as Your Holy word.

So what came before? What division’s there?
Is this watered-down? Or unprepared?
“The Kingdom of God” is ancient text;
You picked up, Lord, as God’s very best.

Paul pushed on this concept, came to terms
With old words and new, he sought to learn
Where Jesus fit in, Paul straddled fence,
Twixt Jew and Greek – prepped his own defense.

So now it is twenty-seventeen;
Of Kingdom-layer I hear what You mean –
A challenge this – though I’m hearing now,
This covenant does not allow –

Us Gentiles a role – just as Paul wrote;
We once were estranged on sinking boat;
But now we’re all one – turn knife around,
Cut rot off us all, fresh fruit abounds.

The role of a priest – what’s that about?
A Kingdom of priests? Without a doubt
I’ve plenty to learn, Lord guide my way
As we soldier on from text this day.

Thanks Lord for this.
