“What Shall This Man Do?” [Scripture- Sundry Poems – Acts 22:8&10, 35]

Sometimes the case has been assigned,
As we sit, dazed, on our behinds;
“Get up” Christ says, “and go into
Damascus, word will come to you.”

That’s after we have ascertained
It’s Jesus speaking, as God’s name
For Spirit’s roam about the land,
And mimic Him, you understand.

But fake implies a real exists –
Through whom each child of God resists
The fake, and hears His holy word,
However such by each is heard.

So Paul commits us to his God,
And to His gracious word – how odd
That he would build us up this way,
Inheritance pass on each day.

And do all this within the group
Now set apart like Sunday suits;
He covets not our cash or kind,
With actions thus he brings to mind –

“For I looked after needs I had
By working hard – now I am glad,
For thus a model I have given
To you as you’re by Spirit driven.

“So help the weak (as you once were);
Recall Christ’s words (don’t sit and purr) –
‘More blessed to give out each day,
Than suck it in, for riches pray’.”

Then Paul checked out in tiny skiff,
Which took them out to larger ship;
(Account then gave to Zion’s crowd
How second chance Christ had allowed).

So too with us as end draws near –
God will through Spirit make quite clear
What we’re to do – keep focus there;
That in His name we might declare –

His word to other folks around,
Whatever channel there be found
To let His word like rain restore
Folks ‘souls to Eden, as before.

Thanks Lord for this.
