“Community Today”
One year ago I wrote some notes,
Poetic-like, to give some oats
To mom with boys for summertime –
Some photographic concepts mine.Through years I’ve done a lot of that –
Support to folks who go Ker-splat,
Or head that way; get down on life,
Succumbing to some lack of light.Like notes we write and send by mail,
So few engage that way, for snail
Is speed at which such messages
Move down those ancient passages.But special are both notes and poems,
And POD for private tomes –
The impact can be quite intense
For neighbors just across the fence.Like clerk in bank with software poor;
And patient who’d been such a doer
Struck down with ALS – such notes
Impacted hard those lines I wrote.So too with clergy, laity,
Whose sermons, actions, I might see;
I drop a note or email link
To website-note to help them think.So Lord, this small community
Is impacted by You, through me;
I keep my right-brain reading notes
In poetry – that floats folks’ boats.Thanks Lord for this.
