“Time Spans Before”

From concrete years to teenage tears
While hormones flowed and work-life neared,
I made the shift – first major span
Abstract sequential as a man.

Then thirty’s, there about, I hunch
 Next span emerged – I had a bunch
Of years those concepts I would scan
One at a time, sequential man.

At fifty years or so, up-shift
Took place, with theory I was gripped –
Intuitive – through MRD –
With Qwest wrapped up – was more than pleased.

I wrote those novels; poems bloomed
Like flowers on bush, as old made room;
I knew a shift would come once more,
And seventy would be the door.

Oh yes, the curve drops back again
Ten years beyond – I’d be the same
As life has been two decades now –
That’s cool – I think I can see how –

My interests could revert to this;
Not bad indeed! For it’s been blessed
In lots of ways – but now this shift
Comes on with force – Lord, what of this?

“Late bloomer” is the term George used
Of me way back – somewhat bemused
I am, for we don’t make the curve,
Just ride it, if we have the nerve.

So Lord, I’m here, disruptive things
Are all around – new venture sings
It’s a siren song – Lord, what a life
To open now for self, kids, wife.

Five-double-years there are, in fact –
More like a shot ’till I am back
Right here, intuitive once more,
With theory’s world here at my door.

So Lord, what would You have me do?
“This world I have prepared for you,
Or you for it, if you prefer,
The two match up – as I refer –

“You to a task within My world
You’re entering – above the whirl
Of life below, which you’ve come through –
A task that’s meet and right for you.

“Stu, institutions are just ways
Of doing things which ground-work lays
For you to move on over now,
As tools and toys and time allow.

“It matters not locale you’re in;
I’ll take you through; new life begin
For you, for which I have prepared
You through your life so multi-layered.

“So, shaky will transition be,
Like Jesse, Lucas, Nico – see
You all shift through transition’s spans –
Such shifts are great – like boy to man.”

Lord, I think back – you handled me –
“Go to Carlisle, see what you see”
I did – then Redvers opened up
As block to blow – now that was tough.

“Creative use of chaos, Stu;
A multi-play so I could use
You better in the years beyond;
Does that sound like the road you’re on?”

O Lord, I see it – yes sir-ee;
Transition’s chaos – on my knees
I would be best to walk this through;
Life just beyond, on rock that’s You.

Thanks Lord for this.
