“When Made Concrete”

Whenever I shift concept to concrete,
It’s like I see what’s flowing past my feet;
It grows – or rather growth that’s there is seen,
Accumulates where naught before has been.

Take circle-coiled notebooks that I made –
Soon five existed, parallel I laid
Them – side by each as way to handle grasp
Of what transpired – explosive growth came fast.

Or my backyard – so fast it comes to life;
Growth-curve it’s on, once concept came to light,
I plugged it in now I can’t keep growth down;
Huge parts of it, mulch covers up the ground.

With people too – four – twelve – then seven-two;
It happens, can’t be stopped – in all we do
We tell someone, then they tell others too;
Life’s exponential spreading life that’s new.

What now I see, is that is how life goes,
Unseen most times, so growth-curve few folks know;
But when concreteness comes into the mix,
We see God’s life – can’t handle all of this.

“Attraction’s law” and other golden tips
Folks grasp onto so life-styles can be fixed,
Are outgrowth’s of what Bergson noted well,
“A life-force flows, I call ‘elan vital’.”

Lord, life as You designed it at the start,
With wisdom-word the filter for Your art,
Is good; much more then any of us see,
Until our concepts’ concreteness can be.

Thanks Lord for this.
