“Convention’s Book Of Silence”
I need a lexicon, a word-book, if you please;
A dictionary lest from page my meaning flees;
So what I meant, consistently expressed my way,
Gets said in words and spaces – meanings I convey.I write in poetry, not prose, is partly it;
I think in Creenglish, so the white-guys take a fit;
“Discern the spirits” is what Spirit does through me –
That’s setting people free in works of Jubilee.There are conventions in the world of print, I know;
I’m not familiar with the meanings each one shows;
A roiling river is the written-word today;
I seek convention so my meanings I convey.I do not speak like native speakers in this land;
I do not write the way my thoughts they’ll understand;
It’s so frustrating, not sure just what I should do;
Perhaps create a dictionary we could use.Just like the Oxford – draw from literature and such;
From trades of print assemble with the Spirit’s touch,
The ways of men and women down upon the earth,
So they can hear the Spirit’s call to second birth.Lord, I’m not sure that task is something I can do
I guess it’s possible – it always is in You;
Please help me know how best to handle this affair,
So “silence-holders” carry meaning that is there.Just like in music, there are symbols which are used
To close express the stream of silence that’s infused
Throughout each piece, for in the silence meaning’s shared;
Musicians take those symbols writer has prepared.I want a set of symbols anyone can hear,
So sounds of silence are conveyed, with meanings clear;
Just like the quarter notes, and rests in music terms,
I want translation code, then proper way I’ll learn.Thanks Lord for this.
