"For Fragrance Is Generic" [Reflections on Book - Right Side Up Side Down Romeo Lemieux and Connie Bischoff re: Eros]

And there it is – unique? No way –
With petals now all blown away,
The scent we smell is general,
Aroused indeed – ephemeral –

But potent, so, to broadcast pix
Like papers, cable, minds are blixed;
We send a copied letter out,
One slip, they see what we’re about.

Generic thanks to unknown names;
Generic gifts – they’re all the same;
Generic scent – through broken flask
Attracts hearts longing home at last.

Agape-love like Eros works –
At foot of cross where soldier lurks
When others leave – “We goofed, I’d say
This Man has helped us on our way.”

Such fragrance from that broken flask,
Poured out for love, our needs the task
Which Christ attends – once we respond,
No sense frustrated from beyond.

Thanks Lord for this.
